2014-12-17T04:00:03 --> 2014-12-17T06:00:03
This is the first of four events that did not look very eruptive when images were looked at casually but that nevertheless produced disturbances at 1 AU. In this flare the key to understanding this puzzle may be the extension of two-ribbon emissions.

2014-12-21T10:00:03 --> 2014-12-22T00:00:03
A prominence on NE limb was activated, material being lifted off and dumped nearby. Note in the late phase, ~20 UT, a cusp geometry, possibly indicating magnetic reconnection at a Y-type null point, which allows cool prominence material being transported in different directions.

2014-12-14T04:00:03 --> 2014-12-14T07:00:03
A small filament associated with AR12227 lifts off, but is not energetic enough to fully leave the corona. Part of the ejected material is observed to remain on longer, closed field lines.

2014-12-17T03:24:07 --> 2014-12-17T05:28:07
Eruption over (and from behind) the W limb.

2014-12-10T02:20:04 --> 2014-12-10T06:30:04
At the beginning of this AIA sequence, the filament material is hovering off the east limb, seemingly trapped in dipped magnetic field lines. The abrupt brightening in 94 (red) of some overlying loops suggests some reconnection occurs, leading to a reconfiguration of the magnetic field and heating of the plasma. This seems to perturb the region in which the filament resides, leading to its erosion. At least some fraction of the filament material disappears by flowing down along loops.

2014-12-06T03:50:04 --> 2014-12-06T09:10:04
This event overlaps with the C1.6 GOES flare (with peak time 06:05) but the two are not the same. Hours before the C1.6 flare, a set of loops in AR 12222 is gradually gaining intensity in the 94 channel. By the time of the C1.6 flare these hot loops have already begun to wane in intensity and spatial extent.

2014-12-05T11:30:04 --> 2014-12-05T16:10:04
This flare results in beautiful hot loops (94 channel, red) that reach high into the corona. Coronal rain can be seen condensing out of some flare loops.

2014-12-05T08:20:04 --> 2014-12-05T10:00:04
Again the overlying loops are unperturbed while the core loops get hot (intensity increase in the 94 channel, red).

2014-12-05T05:20:04 --> 2014-12-05T07:40:04
The arcade that forms during this flare is evidence of a eruption accompanying the flare.

2014-12-05T05:20:04 --> 2014-12-05T07:40:04
Another of a series of flares from AR 12222. At about the same time, AR 12226 has an eruptive flare of its own.

2014-12-05T00:20:04 --> 2014-12-05T01:30:04
This flaring event seems not to be eruptive. The overlying loops of this AR are unperturbed by the flare.

2014-12-02T07:45:35 --> 2014-12-02T09:25:35
The propagation is in all directions but to west. The disturbances are well captured, although the smooth front is hard to recognize.

2014-12-02T17:05:23 --> 2014-12-02T18:25:23
While the eruption appears more east-west, the wave-like disturbances are largely toward south.
