2017-02-02T21:46:03 --> 2017-02-02T22:49:51
An eruption of a mini sigmoidal structure - Top left: 211 A (Temperature 2 MK), top right: 193 A (1.5 MK), bottom left: 171 A (0.6 MK). bottom right: magnetic field map (red: negative, green: positive) at the photospheric surface. This eruption showed slight dimming in 171 A and does not seem to be associated with a CME.

2017-01-30T09:35:09 --> 2017-01-30T21:32:39
A inverse Y-shape coronal hole in the south hemisphere of the sun. Coronal holes are characterized by reduced emission in the corona and the predominantly unipolar nature of magnetic fields at the photosphere.

2017-01-30T09:35:09 --> 2017-01-30T21:32:39
A North-South oriented mini-sigmoid at the size of an ephemeral region. The mini-sigmoid is rooted at a positive and a negative patch of the ephemeral region. The sigmoidal structure is primarily seen in 2MK (green; 211 A channel). An enveloping structure is seen at lower temperatures (0.6MK; blue; 171 A channel). The mini-sigmoid is seen to erupt. This sigmoidal structure is possibly associated with a mini-filament (but not clearly seen in 50,000K of the 304 A channel).

2017-01-29T10:00:09 --> 2017-01-30T01:40:09
A very faint filament erupts at the North West quadrant of the solar disk. The filament is seen in ~50,000K (centered in Top Left; 304 Channel) and before its eruption it looks like a thin strand oriented along the E-W direction. Its signatures in the corona are not very clear - at 0.6 MK (bottom Left; 171 Channel) there is a brightening about the East footpoint of the filament. At higher temperatures (~2MK, Top Right; 211 Channel), brighrenings show up along the E-W direction albeit quite diffuse. The filament originates from an E-W oriented Polarity Inversion Line (Bottom Right; Red (Green) negative (positive) photospheric magnetic field). There was no CME observed by LASCO from this eruption.

Initiation of a CME from a decaying solar Active Region (NOAA AR 12627). The CME speed is slow ~150 km s-1 (see http://spaceweather.gmu.edu/seeds/mkmovie.php?cme=20170129.002407.w036.v0170.p272&frame=20&r)

An example of a prominence that undergoes unwinding motions and takes off gradually without explosive motions. This was probably related to a slow CME that appeared around 12:30 UT (https://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov/data/REPROCESSING/Completed/2017/c2/20170119/20170119_1512_c2_512.jpg shows it at a later time).
