CW - Coronal Wave 2001-06-15T07:18:40 -> 2001-06-15T11:54:40 xcen, ycen = -562,-430
Description: Following the previous, quite directed coronal wave event at ~ 06:30 UT, this coronal wave event is semi-isotropic, and a global event, since it expands to cover most of the southern hemisphere of the Sun. In the 2.5 hours before the eruption at ~ 10:00 UT, loops rooted either side of a filament seen in absorption gradually expand to the south-east, and brighten. The onset of the main eruption occurs at ~ 10:00 UT. The filament erupts, and filament material can still be seen in absorption, gradually moving out of the field of view to the east at 10:23 UT. From ~ 10:55 UT, the development of a spectacular post-eruptive arcade (PEA) dominates the rest of the dataset. Some of the PEA loops are reminiscent of the loops that gradually expanded just prior to the eruption. From ~ 10:12 UT, the loops that gradually expanded to the south-east of the active region are observed to shrink back toward the active region by ~ 10:30 UT. The filament appears to consist of several twisted threads, and these can be clearly seen during the early stage of the filament eruption at ~ 10:06 UT.
