2011-02-15T00:07:22 --> 2011-02-15T01:28:22
C2 precursor to an X2 flare ~1h later. The flare is associated with a northward surge-like eruption: material is thrown up towards a nearby weaker region in the north, and mostly appears to slide down again. Note distant synchronous brightenings, one NE of DC and one in the NE active region.

2011-02-02T17:51:04 --> 2011-02-03T17:08:28
A small flux emergence (and apparent cancellation) spawns a very nice solar plume. After that small area of flux cancels, another small flux emergence starts up just to the southwest outside of the bounding box. Resisted the urge to call this a solar death ray or solar light saber...

2011-02-03T08:58:52 --> 2011-02-03T17:08:28
A small eruption (reported earlier) from an emerging flux region triggers a coronal wave and and two other filament eruptions: a sigmoid filament in the active region just to the west of the emerging flux erupts (already reported) The coronal wave appears to trigger an eruption in the large filament complex much farther north. The eruption of the large filament complex has some coronal rain./brightening associated to its west.

2011-02-02T00:00:04 --> 2011-02-03T17:08:28
Nice emerging flux region trailing an active region. A small eruption in/around the emerging flux triggers a sigmoid shaped filament to erupt in the active region just to its west.

2011-01-21T11:00:05 --> 2011-01-21T16:06:05
Moderate flare at site of flux cancellation in plage. This event was also well captured by Hinode/SOT in Ca II H-line and Na D magnetograms. The flare triggers just as the very last piece of postive polarity flux is being consumed by the surrounding negative polarity plage. Why doesn't it trigger when the cancellation first starts around 11 UT?
