Description: Request to SOT HOP Number 0057 Mode1: - FG program 0x01b7 (FG#11 on Jan 7, 2008) + CaII H 1Kx1K no summing (55""x55"") + Halpha+-800mA DG 2Kx2K 2x2 summing (160""x160"") Time cadence: 20 sec Mode2: - FG program 0x00ea (FG#13 on Jan 7, 2008) + CaII H 1Kx1K no summing (55""x55"") + BC 4504 1Kx1K no summing (55""x55"") Time cadence: 20 sec - SP program 0x002d (SP#8 on Jan 7, 2008) + Normal map 512x512 (82""x82"") One map per every 90 min Scientific Objectives: HINODE SOT discovered a new type of chromospheric activities in sunspot penumbrae, which is called penumbral microjets. Their lifetime is shorter than 1min, and apparent rise velocity is faster than 50km/s, which is significantly faster than the sound speed in the chromosphere. These very dynamical nature of the penumbral microjets suggests that they are possibly driven by magnetic reconnection in uncombed magnetic field configuration of penumbral filaments.
