SOTSP: Coronal Hole Observations
2007-02-17T21:32:08 to 2007-02-17T22:39:57
Science Goal: Irradiance Measurement Campaign
Program: Normal map Full FOV
Target: Coronal Hole
xcen=765 ycen=-401
Instrument: SOTSP
HOP/JOP: 5
Description:
SOT: requests a variety of quiet sun and plage targets at various disk positions this week, for 6 or 12 hour pointings each. Several different programs of ~1-2 hours duration will be run, all high cadence. These are studies of waves, flux tubes, and spicules (coordinated with EIS and perhaps TRACE). Desired targets include: quiet sun at disk center and at 45 degrees, 75 degrees, and near limb
plage at same disk positions as quiet sun out to extreme limb
coronal hole near or at limb. FG high cadence observations for the sun center are followed by eclipse obs at south pole. The pointing then goes to the coronal hole located on the west limb, where we have SP sitand stare obs and FG Ca-H very high cadence obs. We also have SP normal scan and fast MHD wave mode there for the limb coronal hole. Going back to the sun center, we have Ca, shutterless IV with SP normal half FOV obs. Hinode then goes to the plage region which we have been tracking and are now located at the west limb.We have SP normal map with FG context images, followed by various high cadence FG and SP modes. We then goes to the east limb to wait for the possible active region. We have very high cadence Ca-H obs with other high cadence SP and FG programs and one SP normal half map.
