Science Goal: Temporal Evolution and Magnetic Polarity Reversal of the Sun's Polar Magnetic Patches
Program: HOP81, Na IV + Gband, Full FOV
Target: Quiet Sun
xcen=-10 ycen=931
Instrument: SOT
HOP/JOP: 240
Description: SOT/SP observations revealed that the polar region is covered with isolated patches. To learn about the formation and disintegration of these magnetic patches, we need to analyze the temporal data. We also would like to understand the interaction between magnetic patches ofopposite polarity which leads to the polarity reversal on the polar region. Request to FG: NFI Na I: IV + Gband FoV: 328??? x 164??? Binning: 2x2 JPEG Quality: Q75 Time resolution - 5 min Request to SOT SP: FoV 80"x164", Binning: 2x2 Exposure: 3.2 sec (fast map) Compression factor: Q65 for I, Q75 for QUV
